The third generation website was launched in conjunction with the name change from the Council on Philanthropy to Non-Profit Connect in November of 2008. The site has been paying for itself since the last update in 2006 through site sponsorships and revenue generating features such as vendor storefronts and job listings.
Site Offerings:
JobSource — The Non-Profit Connect site is known as the "go-to" place for job seekers and employers
Nonprofit Training Calendar — Lists upcoming training opportunities with more than 10 organizations in the Kansas area
Greater Kansas City Events Calendar — A service to organizations and individuals scheduling fundraising events or looking to attend events throughout Greater Kansas City.
VendorSource — To be launched in May, 2006, VendorSource enables qualified for-profit companies to reach nonprofits with products and services.
Philanthropy Awards — The Council has been able to leverage site properties to market its upcoming Awards Luncheon and to secure corporate sponsorship.
Members-Only Section — A password protected section for members to access foundation and membership directories, archived newsletters and other secured data.
Benefits:
The development of the site, which took 60 days, involved integrating a donor database, choosing a site design, adding pages and content within in-built templates. The site is managed by the individuals responsible for generating content for the organization. Immediate site benefits:
