The City of New York Queens District developed a new channel for community communications through its portal. Overcoming social, technical and financial challenges, this portal has played a critical role in connecting city departments with local residents, businesses and institutions. Early support of this project included Borough President, Helen Marshall and State Senator John Sabini. From the City Department of Information Technology & Telecommunications to the LaGuardia Community College, this city wide Web project is a result of ideas, efforts and energy from multiple departments and individuals, both volunteers and personnel.
